What Is VCBW?

As the craft beer industry began to grow with immense velocity, and BC became one of the world’s meccas of craft beer, VCBW was born to showcase the incredible beers available within the province. 10+ years later and VCBW is one of the world’s best craft beer festivals, welcoming many, many thousands of craft beer drinkers to taste and learn about the available brews. It offers breweries the opportunity to showcase their breweries/cideries, their beers and at the same time connect with the local craft beer consumer base.

Why Participate?

Each attendee’s ticket includes the patron’s samples, within the limits of “Serving it Right” regulations. Within this system, there are no tokens or transactions at each booth, offering exhibitors 100% of their focus on promoting their products. Exhibiting space is by invitation-only and there are two options to register a booth (including a free option). VCBW pays for all kegs that are tapped, at wholesale pricing, leaving the breweries with no cost to them to pour their product.

How Does it Work?

Kegs are purchased by the festival at ‘wholesale’, up to a maximum of $200 (per keg). A brewery / cidery may pour beer with a keg price that exceeds the latter amount but VCBW’s repayment will be capped at $200/keg. If an exhibitor would like to pour 20L or 30L Kegs, the festival will change the purchasing protocol for that individual brewery/cidery. What Does it Cost?

All registered booths must either supply their own tent or rent one (for a nominal fee) from the VCBW tent supplier. Each 10×10 booth includes one table and linen. Exhibitors are responsible for anything else they want to have at their booth. Power is available via the show supplier for an additional fee.
