What is The Whisky Smoke?

Whisky Smoke is an event like no other in Vancouver. It combines a tasting showcase of premium wine and premium whisky with a night out at ‘the track’. It is a derby-style event combined with that of a whisky/wine tasting. It offers agencies and manufacturers access to their specific demographic during mid-summer. .

 

Why Participate?

There are 24 booths (12x wine and 12x whisky). Each wine booth is able to showcase up to 2-SKUs, while whisky booths may showcase a maximum of one. Guests enter with either a ‘whisky ticket’ or a ‘wine ticket’ and can taste only the products associated with their ticket.  

How Does it Work?

In the case of a ‘whisky ticket’, guests will be given a ‘whisky card’, which will display the name of each whisky company at the event, along with product information. At any point during the event, each guest is able to visit each whisky booth, taste one sample of the whisky being showcased at that booth and upon doing so, the exhibitor will mark-off their logo on the guest’s card. This will represent that the guest will not be able to return for an additional tasting at that booth.

With this format, the exhibitor’s aren’t paying to serve the same patron twice and also results in each exhibitor only being responsible for supplying 1-sample per person at the event.

In the case of  wine booths that showcase 2-SKUS, each patron with a ‘wine card’ would have to choose between 1 of the 2 SKUs to sample. Half of the booth’s inventory would be ‘SKU 1’ while the other would be ‘SKU 2’. When the first SKU runs out, the remaining guests would try the remaining SKU.

Ordering process: Vendors order their product(s) directly through the event. The product will be delivered and waiting at the exhibitor’s booth upon their arrival before the doors open. The exhibitor will be invoiced for the cost of product, at wholesale pricing, post event.

It is 100% required to have at least 2-people working at each booth.

All standard 6′ table booths come with shelter and 2 exhibitor passes.
